Educational Programs

Russian Cultural and Educational Center “Erudite” offers a wide range of programs in Russian language, literature, history, and culture, along with academic enrichment, creative, and developmental activities for children and teens.

Our goal is to create an environment where students do more than simply study Russian — they speak, read, write, and think in Russian, explore literature and culture, broaden their horizons, develop their talents, and discover new interests.
Erudite offers programs for different age groups and levels of Russian proficiency — from our youngest learners who are just beginning to discover the language to high school students preparing for advanced language exams and opportunities to earn academic credit.

What We Offer

  • Early Childhood Development — engaging activities for our youngest learners designed to support speech and language development, thinking skills, attention, motor skills, and creativity.

  • Preschool Program — development of spoken Russian, introduction to letters and sounds, early reading and writing skills, vocabulary building, and preparation for continued learning in Russian.

  • Russian Language & Literature — structured instruction in Russian language, grammar, reading, and literature for school-age students.

  • History & Culture — exploration of history, traditions, literature, and the cultural heritage of the Russian-speaking world.

  • Russian as a Foreign Language — a program for children with beginning-level Russian or no previous knowledge of the language.

  • High School Programs — advanced Russian language studies, preparation for the NEWL Russian Language Exam, and the opportunity to participate in Advanced Russian: Level I & Level II, our program accredited by Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) for high school credit.

  • Math, Coding & Robotics — enrichment programs that develop logical, mathematical, technical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Creative Programs — art, crafts, dance, music, filmmaking, and other activities that give students opportunities to explore their interests and express their creativity.

  • Theater — musical theater, drama, and puppet theater programs where students develop communication skills, creativity, confidence, and stage presence.

  • Chess & Brain Games — programs that strengthen logic, concentration, memory, strategic thinking, and creative problem-solving.

  • Other Languages — Kazakh and other language programs may be offered based on interest and group enrollment.

More Than Just Classes
We want Erudite to be a place where children genuinely enjoy learning. That’s why the Erudite experience extends far beyond the classroom.
Throughout the school year, students participate in theater productions, concerts, art exhibitions, science conferences, academic competitions, chess tournaments, and school-wide projects. These experiences give students opportunities to use Russian in meaningful ways, discover new interests, showcase their talents, and become part of a welcoming school community.
At Erudite, every child can find their own path — to learn, create, connect, and discover something new.
