"In my classes, children learn to come up with ideas, film, and edit a variety of video clips and stories. I believe that adolescence is exactly the right age to develop the ability to think and express one's ideas through images. It's important to teach students how to come up with a script for a future video and write it down properly, and then how to film it in a way that conveys the essence of what the script sets out to do. Working through all of these stages — coming up with and writing down the concept (the script), working with actors, recording sound, and so on — helps develop their Russian along the way. The most important thing in my discipline is instilling in students the ability to observe what's happening around them and take a genuine interest in it. It's essential that the subject matter feels close and interesting to the student — that's when they can truly enjoy their work."
