Nazeli Semyonovna Nersesyan graduated from the Tbilisi University of the Humanities. She has more than ten years of experience working with children across a range of age groups, including experience as a teacher in both elementary and upper grades at a secondary school in Tbilisi.
In 2006, she earned a certificate in teaching handicrafts and needlework. She worked at children's summer camps leading a crafts club called "Skilled Hands." In the United States, she has continued her artistic work in the applied arts and is a member of the Rockville Art League in Rockville, Maryland.
"Teaching is my calling. Every year I spend as a teacher, I discover something new and valuable for myself. That's what keeps me moving forward — setting goals for myself, approaching them creatively, and constantly striving to reach new milestones.
I consider the educational and character-building approaches to be the most important in working with children. With my students, I try to instill a desire to learn, the ability to think critically, and confidence in their own abilities. I use a variety of teaching methods and techniques — running educational and developmental games in class, and making wide use of visual aids, teaching materials, and audio and video resources. I try to make every lesson interesting, varied, and productive.
Teachers are often described as those who "sow what is wise, good, and everlasting." I want to be that kind of sower — one whose labor yields a harvest of knowledge and good deeds carried out by the students I've taught."
