Natalia Alexandrovna Grishina completed her master's degree at the Physics Department of Kazan State University in 1999. She taught at Lyceum No. 1 (affiliated with the university), in the university's junior physics program, at the "Kvant" summer school run by Kazan State University, and even at a choreography school. She went on to graduate studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
For several years, she led a knitting and board games club for children and adults in Rockville, Maryland. She has also worked as an after-school instructor within the Montgomery County elementary school system, helping young children get their start in technology and robotics.
She organized a team to compete in the FIRST LEGO League competition. Since 2012, she has run the "Kangaroo" International Mathematical Competition in Rockville, Maryland, and leads math clubs.
"I've always loved teaching children, working with them, and opening their eyes to something new. I'm also a big fan of puzzles and brain teasers — both in math and in the Russian language. And I love to read. My collection of Russian-language children's books would be the envy of any library. I believe one of the main goals of a Russian school is to instill in children a love of reading and literature."
