"Chess has been one of my hobbies since I was young. To this day, I still delight in immersing myself in this ancient, endlessly fascinating game and studying its theory — and for nearly 20 years now, I've also been actively drawing children of all ages into the world of chess, no matter what language they speak. I believe chess is one of the most effective ways to develop logical thinking, memory, combinatorial skills, athletic discipline, and ethics. Many children start playing as soon as they've learned to read and count. Knowing that children tend to tire quickly, I do everything I can to make sure they never get bored. Before long, a child who only recently saw a chess board and pieces for the first time will feel entirely confident competing in tournaments and using a chess clock. Through chess, children learn to control their emotions and behavior while sharpening their analytical abilities. I'm convinced that chess, like everything else we teach at our school, gives children a genuine head start in life."
